Trainer Profile:
Sheila Hamilton
MA DIA MCIPD
Certified NLP Practitioner
"I have a wealth of experience in delivering training sessions. I have sound communication and interpersonal skills, am keen and enthusiastic. I am fully committed to any role I undertake. I believe I can help."
With a background in teaching Mathematics and lecturing in the Behavioural Sciences, Personnel Management and Statistics, I became involved in giving seminars to local businesses on the "softer" but essential communication and interpersonal skills.
Then, in 1998, to enable me to concentrate on helping individuals with what they felt were of areas of real concern, I set up my own training consultancy, T.I.P.S., choosing as my logo a Feather quill, representing "the communication of truth and knowledge".
Communicating is something we all do every day, whether professionally or socially, but it is a skill that we are seldom formally trained in. I love being able to help people develop their confidence in their own abilities, as well as providing the opportunity to realise their true potential.
I, too, can never be complacent and am continually developing my own competency base, attending various Training Courses and becoming a Certified NLP Practitioner in 2005. I am also an active member of the CIPD Independent Consultants' group, the Association of Scottish Businesswomen, attending local Aberdeen Businesswomen's Network meetings, and a regular at Aberdeen Entrepreneurs Meetings.
In 2008, I became a member of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce for whom I regularly run several management and personal development and courses.
Keeping up with family and friends is important, as is being in touch with current trends and opinions. Travelling too, widens my knowledge and experience of different cultures. For relaxation I enjoy playing golf, not only as a Club Member, but also with my patient husband, even managing to win a few vouchers in mixed competitions!
Testimonials
The workshop on Presentation Skills that Sheila Hamilton did for activitymix has definitely benefited all the employees that attended. As well as useful practical advice on not just what to do, but how to do it, (telling us to speak slower would have been little use, but telling us how to make sure we spoke slower was very helpful), she also helped us gain confidence in our presentation abilities. I am sure this will improve the quality of our events from now on..... more
